Military Bulletin Board -  There is a basket in the commons for you to leave pictures of the deployed, reserves, and active duty members of the military.

Please use the new pastoral/prayer cards to communicate to staff requests for prayer lists and other details for pastoral care. The cards may be obtained in the Parish Information Center and in the Hospitality/Ushers' Room.

Remember the members of our parish who are not well - Send a card to someone you know and perhaps to someone you don't know.

Greeters Needed - Volunteers for Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - call Caroline in the parish office if interested. Help us keep our building safe by being a greeter.

Did you know that there is a library/reading room in the new Pastoral Center? Parishioners are invited to come and check it out and spend some time there during regular office hours 9-4.

Also, visit the St. Augustine Book Store. You may purchase copies of the pew cards to be used beginning the first Sunday of Advent as are parish directories and other items in the bookstore.

"WE WALK WITH..." POSTER
Please bring your photos of children or seniors here in the U.S. or anywhere in the world who are sponsored by St. Augustine parishioners.  Now is your chance to give us your photo (it will be returned). Just place it in one of the white envelopes you will find on the far right bulletin board in the information center and put that envelope into the gray and green Sponsorship Photos envelope.

Be a Good Neighbor:

Please do not park your "FOR SALE" vehicles in the church lot.

Parking for Mass and Parish Events
Please do not park in the Beulah Methodist parking lot as a courtesy to our Emergency Shelter newneighboring church. Also the area next to the Newspaper Collection Bin does not have parking spaces. Please do not park along that side as it is too close to the legitimate parked vehicles for anyone to drive through that lane. Thank you very much for complying with this request.

Requiem for a Parish Icon

For over 25 years, the Pepsi/Soda machine has stood in the Parish hallway/Commons Area to the Church Hall. Not only did it provide a thirst quenching refreshment to parishioners and visitors, but the monies accrued from the machine funded various projects and furnishing around the Parish complex. Most of the storage cabinets in the educational wing; brick walls at the main entrance to church; the conversion of the old garage to the Auxiliary Building; painting of the parish hall and office; children activity bars; driveway markers; Life guest speakers; and last but not least, donations to the St Augustine’s Scholarship Fund were supported by this icon. Recently, the soda machine was removed; we’re sorry to see it go.

St Augustine Rules ~~ "Recognize in this bread what hung on the cross, and in this chalice what flowed from His side...whatever was in many and varied ways announced beforehand in the sacrifices of the Old Testament, pertains to this one sacrifice which is revealed in the New Testament."

~~ from the writings of St. Augustine

St. Augustine's Prayer
God of our life, there are days when the burdens we carry chafe our shoulders and weigh us down; when the road seems dreary and endless, the skies gray and threatening; when our lives have no music in them, and our hearts are lonely, and our souls have lost their courage.  Flood the path with light, turn our eyes to where the skies are full of promise; turn our hearts to brave music; give us the sense of comradeship with heroes and saints of every age; and so quicken our spirits that we may be able to encourage the souls of all who journey with us on the road of life to your honor and glory.
